Paper Pumpkin - October 2021 - Peaceful Christmas

Updated: Nov 9, 2021

For my Paper Pumpkin subscribers, this month I'm sharing a couple of card ideas you can create with a few basic supplies and the beautiful stamp set that was included in your Paper Pumpkin-October 2021-Peaceful Christmas kit.

The kit for October, 2021 contains supplies to create 10 lovely Christmas cards... 5 each of these two designs. I created these cards as the directions indicated in the kit and I love how they turned out. This was a fun, hour of crafting during the week that really helped me to relax after work.

The stamp set that was included with this kit has mostly sentiments, plus a tiny snowflake background image and a little row of trees image....

PRO TIP | The stamp sets that come with your Paper Pumpkin kits are often a little smaller in scale than regular stamp sets sold in the Stampin' Up! catalog. These stamps are typically used to for sentiments on little labels or tags in the kits so they are scaled for those proportions. To use them in on cards you're making from scratch, try creating a smaller scale focal platform like in the two samples below. This helps the images stand out more and makes your design shine!

Here are a couple of cards I made using minimal supplies and only stamps from this little Paper Pumpkin stamp set...

As you can see in these examples, I cut a small piece of Mint Macaron cardstock and stamped my trees (and snowflakes) tone-on-tone to create a little scene for my sentiment strip/panel. On the more elaborate card on the right, I also added a strip of Real Red cardstock to the base card and ran it through my Wintery 3D embossing folder to get that pine needle texture, keeping with the tree theme of the card.

Here is a closer look at that card. The texture adds a nice layer and the sentiment popped up on the scalloped rectangle really draws your eye. I have to say, I really love the tiny tree border. It's so cute and it would look great along the bottom of the envelope to coordinate.

Finally, the simple embellishments add a nice, subtle touch. I hope these cute, easy cards inspire your own creativity, and you are able to put that little stamp set to use in your personal crafting.
