Today I'm dropping in to share a card I made using the Beautiful Friendship stamp set from Stampin' Up! This card features a focal point sentiment sometimes referred to as a border strip sentiment. You can see how this card came together by watching the video right HERE.
This card was really easy and fun to put together with this gorgeous stamp set. I used Melon Mambo ink for the roses and Melon Mambo card stock for the base card. I cut a white panel using the largest die from the Stitched Rectangle Framelits dies for the panel I stamped. It was very easy to stamp the roses the first time, making sure both were on the panel and then offsetting the stamp a bit to only include one rose the second time I stamped the roses. This creates an odd number of roses and in the design world, odd numbers are most pleasing to the eye...
Even professional gardeners will suggest planting odd numbers of the same plant when building a garden. Either plant 1, 3, 5 or 7 for the most pleasing arrangement. That rule applies in stamping as well.
After the roses were placed where I wanted, I stamped in a few sets of leaves using Old Olive ink. I then stamped the sentiment on the border strip in Smokey Slate ink and then glued it in place on the diagonal after attaching it to a strip of silver glimmer card stock. That glimmer card stock makes any card more special just by adding some dazzling shimmer. The placement of the sentiment on the diagonal is just another trick for a fun, interesting design element.
The finishing touch was adding the three rhinestone basic gems. So simple but they really do add the best sparkle to finish off the card.
This set has some fabulous sentiments, a beautiful hydrangea bloom and additional leaves and flower centers. You get a lot of value with this stamp set. You can purchase all the supplies in my SHOP. Thanks so much for stopping in to see what I made tonight. Until next time...
