Clean + Simple: Timeless Tropical

Hello my friends... back this week with a clean and simple card that features Stampin' Up! products from the Tropical Oasis Suite. Couldn't help but dream of a white sand beach and crystal blue waters when I was making the card for today's post... You can see how this card came together by watching the VIDEO--- or just keep reading!

So this card was inspired by my desire to create a bon voyage card for a friend who is heading out on a much awaited tropical vacation this coming week. I've been playing with the products from the Tropical Oasis Suite for a couple of weeks and thought creating a card with these products would be a fun way to send her off and let her know I'll be thinking of her while she is away.

I started with a base card in whisper white and then added a panel of white that I dry embossed with my Coastal Weave 3D embossing folder. I'm still buried in Lily Impressions Designer Series Paper (DSP) which is a free item you can choose during Sale-A-Bration with a $50 order, so I looked through that paper and noticed the gorgeous Bermuda Bay neutral side and thought it would work great for the background/focal circle for the card.

I stamped a sentiment in early espresso ink on a crumb cake strip. I stamped the palm trees using pear pizzazz ink on whisper white card stock and die cut it out with the coordinating die. I also cut out some cute, tropical leaves that come with the die set, using garden green and granny apple green card stock scraps. I glued these layers to the base card with snail adhesive, all but the sentiment strip---I popped that up with dimensional adhesive. The finishing touches were to add a little "air bow" in linen thread and some gold metallic pearls. Those really catch the light nicely and look great with the warm tone of the crumb cake sentiment strip.

Before cleaning off the stamps and putting everything away, I remembered to stamp the envelope with some palm trees. I know she'll be delighted when she gets the card this week. I hope it makes her even more excited about the vacation ahead!
