Clean & Simple: Spooktacular Bash 2

I'm back today with another clean and simple card design, this time featuring the Spooktacular Bash stamp set and Ornate Frames dies---a cute Halloween-themed bundle offered by Stampin' Up! You can see how this card came together by watching the video HERE.

I love Halloween stamp sets and product suites and the products Stampin' Up! had for us this year have been totally stellar! The patterned papers are the cutest we've had in ages and I have truly loved making treat boxes and cards using this suite. In honor of Halloween coming up I thought it would be fun to whip up a clean and simple card using this product bundle. I have mostly scraps left of the Designer Series Paper (DSP) after teaching a fun Trick-or-Treat class earlier this month where we used this product suite to create treats to give to Halloween goblins, but also looked at how we could translate these projects into Christmas, Birthday and Shower gifts and favors. It was fun and very eye-opening! This ornate frames die set is just as gorgeous in red, green and gold for Christmas as it is in black & orange for Halloween. It really helped us all to see how we can stretch our dies and put them to work in different themed projects.

So for these cute cards I used a couple of scrap strips of the patterned paper, cut an orange ornate frame out of pumpkin pie card stock and stamped the vampire in black ink on a scrap of white and cut him out with my scissors. There is a die that will cut out the shape of the vampire, but sometimes it's just as easy to snip with scissors. I punched a black leaf sprig to tuck into the corner and stamped the sentiment directly on the card base. This was a cute, quick card and since I have a couple of them in my stash now, I'm looking forward to sending them out to some of my more festive friends who I know will love them as a reminder that Halloween is coming!
