Clean + Simple: Honey Bee Sneak Peek!

Hello friends! I'm back this week with a little sneak peek from the brand new Spring 2020 Mini catalog from Stampin' Up! which launches this coming Friday, January 3rd. I'm SO EXCITED because this catalog is amazing... you're going to love the stamp sets, die sets, gorgeous papers--- and the new kits are mind-blowing!!

I made a card today using the Honey Bee bundle. This bundle caught my eye the first time I looked through the catalog and it won't disappoint. So many cute images and the dies are fabulous!! This set lends itself to some adorable card designs. You can see how this card came together by watching the video HERE. Keep reading for close up photos and more details...

So for this cute card, I started with a top folding base card in whisper white. I added a layer panel of DSP from the Golden Honey Specialty DSP in the Sale-A-Bration catalog. This paper is one of the items you can get for FREE when you place a $50 order between January 3 and March 31, 2020.

I then stamped out two of the honey bee images using black ink on white card stock, as well as a sentiment strip. I trimmed the sentiment strip to create the banner end. I also stamped out a bee hive (or bee skep) in crushed curry ink on crushed curry card stock for a tone-on-tone effect. I die cut the bees and the hives using the dies from the bundle (item #153792).

I layered everything together using regular SNAIL adhesive for the hive and dimensional foam adhesive for the bees and the sentiment strip. The finishing touch was to add the gold metallic pearls.

I love how this card came together and had such a blast playing with these products!! I created several other samples and I'm turning it into a boxed note class where my students will make 4 cards, with envelopes and decorate and acetate box for the set. This will make a beautiful gift or a fun project to keep and it can be duplicated, for more fun and gift-giving! Look for that on my event calendar in May, 2020!

Thanks for popping in today to see what I've been working on. If you don't have a hard copy of the new Stampin' Up! Spring Mini catalog and Sale-A-Bration flyer and would like them, please send me an email at queencitystampart@gmail.com and I'd be happy to send them off to you!

Until next time...
