Today I'm sharing a card that doubles as a gift card holder. If you have extra Designer Series Paper (DSP) and need an idea for a lovely project--here it is! I chose to make mine in a Christmas theme to get a head start on my gift card holder stash, but this would be lovely for birthdays or showers too, just change the paper and sentiment!

I love to have lots of different gift card holders on hand at Christmas. They create a festive way to give gifts to family, friends and even service professionals who support you every day===your mail carrier, hairdresser, nail technician, a child's teacher, yoga instructor, coach, your administrative assistant or receptionist at work... the list goes on and on. It's nice to have a "little something" for these folks and a $5-10 gift card for coffee presented in a gift card holder like this, can be a thoughtful gift.
I used both of the stamp sets and both of the die cutting sets from the Stampin' Up! Painted Christmas Suite of product. I also used a sheet of Designer Series Paper (12x12). You can get two of these holders from one sheet, plus have extra to decorate other cards. I chose the neutral side of the paper for the outside to keep the design pretty clean and simple, but the themed pattern on the inside is the pine cone pattern and the little pine cone and pine springs on the front really echo that theme.
I used some Shimmery Crystal Effects on the pine cones to give them some sparkle, shine and dimension. I love this product and sometimes forget it's even in my stash! So glad I remembered for these pine cones because it really dressed up the embellishment!
