Clean + Simple Card: Butterfly Brilliance

So today I reached for my Butterfly Brilliance bundle to create the clean and simple card and I have to say I do enjoy working with these stamps and dies. I love trying different color combinations for the butterflies!! I also love that when I stamp and die cut them, I get a nice little pile of shapes and sizes, all at once. The video for the card today can be found HERE. For a closer look at the cards, please keep reading...

So I started with a base card of Misty Moonlight, added a basic white layer panel to the inside and then I embossed another basic white layer panel with the 3D Bark embossing folder to give the front some nice texture. I'm very impressed with this embossing folder for the deeply impressed pattern that's created. You can use this pattern horizontally, like I did which also is great for water-themed cards, or you can turn it 90 degrees and use it in a vertical pattern, more like actual bark. I used my Stitched so Sweetly dies to cut out a vellum panel that I used as a platform to build my focal point. I also used the Pierced Blooms dies to cut a few leaf sprigs in Just Jade.

The butterflies were stamped on Pale Papaya card stock with Pumpkin Pie ink and die cut using the dies in the bundle. I love this color palette and find it fresh and summery. All of the different textures are subtle enough to add interest without overpowering the design, keeping this card very clean and simple. I chose a sentiment from the brand new Through it Together stamp set. This is a wonderful set with a variety of useful sentiments for card-makers. I used Misty Moonlight ink to stamp the sentiment and added it on a little strip to my card front with some dimensional adhesive. The crowing touch were the gilded gems, just to add a little sparkle. I hope you enjoyed the card for today. I love making cards using the butterflies paired with the pierced blooms dies... they come together so easy and you can create so many fun variations.
