Christmas in July - Regal Reindeer

This month I'm featuring a Christmas in July series to help you get a head start on your handmade Christmas cards. Each week, I'll share a simple card, that's easy to reproduce. Consider using it as inspiration for creating a batch of Christmas cards to help you put some "handmade" into your Christmas this year! Look for the printable project sheet below!

This week I'm sharing a few cards I created using the Regal Reindeer stamp set and Reindeer dies. These products are an elegant option for your Christmas cards. Although they are outline images which implies that you'd color them in, you don't have to color, them as you can see they look great as sketch outlines on your card fronts. This can really simplify your card-making, especially if you really like this set but don't love to color. On the other hand, if you enjoy coloring, you'd probably love coloring these images with either watercolor or Stampin' Blends markers. To add extra interest to this design, the 3D Timber Embossing Folder was a great tool to use, adding texture and interest to the card design.

In the video I show you how to make the card in the center, pictured above, however I share the other two cards and describe the difference. You can watch the tutorial video HERE.

I admit, I struggled at first to come up with an easy idea for creating simple cards in multiples using these products. There are so many image choices and then the die cuts compound that overwhelm with even more selections there! It was fun creating cards and trying different combinations of products (and coloring), and I was able to narrow down the choices and design a card that is simple enough to create multiples with ease, but still interesting and fun! For the alternative simple version, using the Tailor Made Tag dies, just substitute the largest tag die cut for the focal panel and omit the bunny image.

I hope you enjoyed the card for this week! I'll be back with another card next week, continuing this fun holiday card series. ~ hugs, Kristine
