North Carolina Demonstrator Blog Hop: 2021-23 In Colors

Hey friends!! In case we have never met, I'm Kristine Vicente, an Independent Demonstrator with Stampin' Up!, located in Statesville, NC. Today I'm taking part in the NC Stampin' Up! Demonstrator Blog Hop, and as the theme of this month's hop, I'm sharing a watercolor color technique, using a few of the 2021-23 In Colors which will soon retire at the end of April, 2023. You can watch the video to see how I created the variegated flowers on my project, by visiting---> HERE.

I started with a piece of the Stampin' Up! Fluid 100 Watercolor card stock. It's important to use watercolor paper when you're using a lot of water in the technique because the watercolor paper is specially designed to be able to absorb the water. I created a watercolor wash background using a Pale Papaya re-inker

and some water, then let that absorb for a minute and added some splotches of Fresh Freesia re-inker mixed with water to create a fun, splotchy background that is perfect for punching or die cutting (once it's completely dry).

The DSP on the card front is a sheet of the 2021-23 In Color 6x6 designer paper pack and I set off my focal image with a panel of Evening Evergreen card stock as a layer with a 1/8" border around that focal panel. The panel itself is also watercolor card stock because I stamped the leaf outline image using Evening Evergreen ink and then used my fine water painter brush to pull color from the edges of the image to fill in the leaves with color that coordinated with my lovely, watercolored flowers. I love this simple technique and the artsy look it gives to my card projects. If you've never tried it, I so hope you will!! You'll fall in love with watercolor.

I encourage you to place orders with your respective demonstrators during Sale-a-Bration (thru 2/28/23) so you can earn freebies, for any re-inkers, card stock, patterned paper packs or embellishments in the colors of Evening Evergreen, Pale Papaya, Soft Succulent, Polished Pink and Fresh Freesia because when they sell out, they are gone forever!!

I appreciate you checking out my project this month and hope you continue on the hop to see what the other demonstrators have created for you. Lots of creative inspiration in this group!!
